Ciara is our #2023MascotMakers winner!
We were blown away by the response to our #2023MascotMakers competition. We received thousands of fantastic, colourful and imaginative entries from pupils in national schools around the region. Thank you to all the children who entered and to their teachers for their great enthusiasm! The winning entry was designed by Ciara Cowley, a sixth-class student in Corballa National School.
Ciara’s beautiful salmon design encapsulates Ballina’s world-famous association with salmon as the official Salmon Capital of Ireland. It also reflects all the great talents, qualities and richness of community that exist in Ballina, as displayed through designs on the salmon’s scales.
Thank you to Toymaster Ballina and Eason Ballina for kindly sponsoring the prizes for Ciara and her classroom.
Ballina Costume Company has now taken Ciara’s design and is adapting it to create our official Ballina2023 mascot, which we’ll be revealing very soon! We are very excited to see Ciara’s entry brought to life!
