A Celebration of Irish Craft Beer in Ireland
After a three year break the highly anticipated Yeast Meets West Craft Brew Festival returns for a fifth year, promising an unforgettable celebration of craft beer, food and music in Ballina, partnering with Food Fleadh Ballina, supported by the Ballina 2023 Community Fund.
Scheduled for Saturday, September 2 and Friday, September 3 from 1pm to 10pm each day, this year’s festival is set to elevate the beer aficionado experience to new heights, featuring no fewer than beer flavours, combined with a weekend of live musical entertainment, and food pairings from local chefs and food vendors.
This year’s craft brewers’ include:
Reel Deel Brewery, Crossmolina, Co Mayo,
Ballykilcavan Brewery, Stradbally, Co. Laois,
Bridewell Brewery, Clifden, Co. Galway,
Mescan Brewery, Kilsallagh, Westport, Co. Mayo and
Lough Gill Brewery, Cleveragh, Co. Sligo.
Ballina’s food festival, Food Fleadh Ballina partners again with Yeast Meets West Craft Brew festival, welcoming chefs Gerry Luskin of Luskin’s Bistro and Wine Bar, Daniel Mayr of Poacher Restaurant, Mark Kavanagh of Waterfront House & Restaurant Enniscrone, and Belmullet’s Taste of the Ocean to Dr. Kathleen Lynn Lane, adjacent to Hogans Bar, just off O’Rahilly St, Ballina, with more surprise culinary treats to be announced!
And it’s not just world class craft beer and food at this year’s festival, as the tunes to the beer will be supplied by local band Stewy and the Vegans, singer Billie Forde, and DJ Ryan Cawley playing over the two-day sessions.
Event Coordinator of the beer festival Paul Martin said: “Yeast Meets West 2023 is all set to showcase a vast selection of craft beers from renowned breweries and award-winning brewers from around the country. Master brewers present their finest brews, offering attendees an opportunity to savour a diverse range of flavours and styles of beers new to Co. Mayo.
Local brewer Marcus Robinson of Reel Deel Brewery, based in Crossmolina, said he is delighted to be welcoming his fellow brewers to Ballina in September, and is really looking forward to bringing some distinct tastes and craft beer flavours to Ballina over the weekend.
